SK Telecom (017670.KS) said it is expanding the "Subscription Calendar" service on its artificial intelligence (AI) application A. (A-dot). The feature allows users to receive discount or benefit schedules from brands of interest via the calendar, enabling them to check necessary schedules directly without separate searches.
The existing schedule service was a function for managing user-entered schedules such as meetings and appointments. The Subscription Calendar, however, is distinguished by automatically filling in related schedules and information based on topics of interest selected by the user.
SK Telecom plans to expand Subscription Calendar partnerships into various fields, including entertainment, beauty, retail, and fashion. In collaboration with Hana Securities and CU, the company will broaden the service into areas close to daily life, such as finance and retail. Hana Securities will provide information requiring timely review — including regular research, investment insights, and major financial schedules — in calendar format. CU will deliver notifications on pre-orders, discount events, prize drawings, and limited-time promotions in schedule form. SK Telecom is also pursuing partnerships with LG Electronics' official online mall and Olive Young.
SK Telecom plans to advance the Subscription Calendar into an AI agent that extends into execution areas such as reservations, orders, and payments. "A.'s Subscription Calendar is a service that brings necessary information and benefits into daily life without customers having to search for them," said Kim Ji-hoon, head of the AI Business Division. "It will evolve into an AI agent that connects to execution areas such as reservations, orders, and payments based on subscription schedules."
