Unity, the global game engine company, has unveiled Unity 7, a game development platform optimized for the game development environment of the artificial intelligence (AI) era.
Matthew Bromberg, president and CEO of Unity, introduced Unity 7 at the global developer conference "Unite Seoul 2026," held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul, on the 21st. He described it as "a collaboration platform designed to allow developers, artists, producers, and AI coding agents to work together throughout the entire game development process."
"The future doesn't belong to the biggest teams. It belongs to those who can shape their own destiny by using technology on their own terms," he said. "Unity is committed to supporting creators at every stage, from the first spark of an idea to launching a global hit, acquiring players, and generating revenue."
Unity 7 focuses on shortening the process of turning ideas into games by integrating with AI tools that developers already use. In particular, it maintains compatibility so that Unity 7 features can be used without upgrading from the existing version, Unity 6.
Unity 7 differentiates itself through faster production via modernization of the engine core, an open collaboration ecosystem, next-generation graphics, growth and monetization features, and compatibility with existing projects.
"By distributing games to more platforms than ever before, more players will be able to enjoy games," Bromberg said. "Unity 7 will be the biggest advance in Unity's history."
Unity 7 is scheduled to enter initial beta testing in December, with the official version expected to launch in the first quarter of next year.
