Gwanghwamun Square, in the heart of Seoul, transformed into a giant world of Lego bricks on Children's Day on the 5th. Lego Korea, in cooperation with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, held the "2026 Gwanghwamun Family Festival – Let's Play Gwanghwamun Square" from the 2nd through the 5th, presenting the largest-ever play space in the city center.
Now in its fourth year, the festival is Seoul's signature family event held at Gwanghwamun Square, one of the city's most iconic landmarks. A total of 6 million Lego bricks were used for this year's event, the largest scale on record. The venue was filled with a variety of programs designed for family visitors to enjoy, including a super-sized brick mosaic experience, Lego diorama exhibits, hands-on play zones and photo zones.

The highlight of the festival was the citizen-participation program "Seoul We Build," a Lego mosaic experience. Composed of 5 million bricks in total, the work featured major landmarks from each of Seoul's 25 autonomous districts on a massive canvas measuring 12 meters by 12 meters.
Approximately 35,000 citizens personally assembled the bricks, creating a spectacular scene as the work came together. Notably, Lego Korea and the Seoul Metropolitan Government unveiled the completed work on Children's Day on the 5th and pledged to donate Lego sets equivalent to the number of program participants to underprivileged groups in need of play opportunities through a nonprofit organization, adding meaning through sharing.
"We prepared this event to provide children and their entire families an experience that nurtures creativity and imagination through play during the Children's Day holiday," a Lego Korea official said.
