Toray Advanced Materials Korea said Friday that it participated in IEEE PES T&D 2026, the world's largest power industry exhibition held in Chicago for four days from Tuesday, where it showcased its meta-aramid paper.
Meta-aramid paper is a high-performance material with exceptional heat resistance and electrical insulation properties, capable of withstanding temperatures of 220 degrees Celsius for more than 60,000 hours. It is regarded as a core material optimized for enhancing the safety and efficiency of power equipment while enabling miniaturization and higher performance.
Leveraging dry-process manufacturing technology, which it became the second company in the world to secure, Toray Advanced Materials also provides a laminating total solution that combines meta-aramid paper with polyester film. The company plans to enhance customers' design efficiency and process stability while strengthening its presence in the insulation materials market for next-generation power equipment.
"The North American market is a key market where demand for high-performance insulation materials is rapidly growing due to the expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) data centers and rising demand for replacement of aging power infrastructure," an official at Toray Advanced Materials said. "Through this exhibition, we will promote the excellent technology of our meta-aramid paper and expand cooperation with local customers and partners."
