SK Speedmate, the automotive service subsidiary of SK Networks (001740.KS), has opened the first flagship store of its imported car service specialty brand "ZIC TECH."
SK Speedmate announced Monday that it held an opening ceremony at the Dongtan Neungdong branch, the first flagship store of ZIC TECH. The opening comes about six months after SK Speedmate and SK Enmove signed a business agreement last November to jointly pursue the franchise business and prepare the store launch.
Starting with the Dongtan Neungdong branch, SK Speedmate plans to prioritize opening and operating ZIC TECH stores in the Gyeonggi region, including Ilsan, Gimpo, and Gunpo, before expanding its sales network nationwide. The company aims to open 10 stores in the first half of the year and 30 stores by year-end.
Building on SK Speedmate's strong maintenance and franchise operation capabilities, ZIC TECH will service imported vehicles using SK Enmove's ZIC lubricants, which have obtained the latest official certifications from imported car manufacturers in Germany and elsewhere, at reasonable prices. In addition, the company has established a system to smoothly supply necessary imported car parts to customers by partnering with Mann+Hummel and Bosch Korea, which supply parts to global automakers. As a brand specializing in imported car maintenance, ZIC TECH also plans to provide technical support and staff training to strengthen competitiveness in standardized service quality.
While imported cars continue to increase in Korea, maintenance infrastructure for imported vehicles remains relatively insufficient, and uncertainty around service quality is high. In particular, for imported cars whose warranty periods have expired, it is difficult to find maintenance services as reliable as official service centers at reasonable prices. In this environment, ZIC TECH is expected to serve as an option that helps imported car customers operate their vehicles safely.
