Samsung Electronics' Micro RGB TV has received safety certifications related to eye and sleep health from a global institution.
Samsung Electronics announced on the 13th that its product obtained both "Eye Safety" and "Circadian Rhythm Display" certifications from VDE, a German testing and certification organization. Through this certification, Samsung Micro RGB TV has officially been recognized as developed with consideration not only for picture quality but also for user health including eye care and sleep.
The two certifications are granted only to products that provide optimal viewing environments without burdening the human body, measuring the display's impact on users' eyes and circadian rhythms respectively. Eye safety certification analyzes light emitted from devices to measure the impact on eyes during prolonged TV viewing. It particularly verifies the reduction level of blue light, which affects eye fatigue and sleep rhythms during extended exposure.
The circadian rhythm display evaluation measures the display's impact on users' circadian rhythms—the 24-hour biological cycle. It assesses whether the display creates a natural light-like environment during the day and minimizes stimulation at night, analyzing melatonin suppression levels by time of day and characteristics of color temperature and luminance changes.
Samsung Electronics is expanding eye safety certification across its major 2026 TV lineup. The company is also sequentially expanding circadian rhythm display certification, focusing on premium product lines.
"With Micro RGB TV verified for both eye safety and circadian rhythm compatibility, we have established a new standard for premium TVs," said Tae-yong Son, Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. "We will continue developing differentiated display technologies that consider users' viewing environments and lifestyles."
