Beauty platform Hwahae announced on the 10th that cumulative reviews on its platform have surpassed 10 million.
According to Hwahae, the total character count of reviews written over the past 12 years approaches 1.8 billion characters. Each review averages approximately 180 characters in length. The 3.87 million users who have written reviews represent 60% of Korean women in their 20s and 30s. Some 5.56 million users have viewed the registered reviews. User interaction has been active, with 1.92 million users leaving "likes" and 500,000 users marking reviews as "helpful." Hwahae established a user reward system for review activities in 2017, having distributed 2.65 billion won in Hwahae points to date.
Hwahae is holding an event to commemorate reaching 10 million reviews. Users who view the "10 Million Reviews, 10 Million Settlement" content on the Hwahae app will receive entry tickets for a prize drawing offering various rewards: first prize is an iPhone 17 Pro (1 winner); second prize includes randomly selected perfumes from Diptyque, Byredo, or Le Labo (3 winners); third prize is a FWEE makeup box (10 winners); and bonus thank-you gifts of 10,000 won in shopping points (1,000 winners total).
Hwahae will also host an awards ceremony honoring users who set unique records. The "Text Mansour Award" goes to a user who wrote approximately 16,000 characters—equivalent to 10 A4 pages—in a single review. The "Review Master Award" recognizes the user who set the record with 2,350 total reviews. The "Heart Stealer Award" will be presented to a user who received approximately 12,000 "likes" on their reviews. The author of the 10 millionth review will receive a one-don pure gold nameplate.
"We will continue to establish ourselves as a beauty platform that domestic and international consumers can trust and reference," said Lee Woong, CEO of Hwahae Global.
