Rokit Healthcare (376900.KQ) is entering the US artificial intelligence (AI) kidney function prediction and monitoring system market.
Rokit Healthcare announced Thursday that it has signed a strategic partnership with US biotech company 20/20 BioLabs and begun commercializing its kidney function prediction and monitoring system in the United States. The company plans to launch a paid service in the US in the second half of this year by combining Rokit Healthcare's AI solution with BioLabs' kidney testing services.
BioLabs, a company led by researchers from Johns Hopkins, operates a CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments)-certified laboratory recognized by the US government and runs a paid service that detects tumor markers from a single drop of blood. As a result, Rokit Healthcare's AI system is expected to enter the market quickly without separate regulatory approval procedures. The chronic kidney disease (CKD) market in the United States is estimated at approximately 130 trillion won ($96 billion) annually.
The two companies plan to expand their cooperation into longevity, prevention and monitoring sectors in line with the US government's "Make America Healthy Again (MAHA)" policy. They will jointly pursue high-value-added services that predict and manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, kidney disease and arthritis in advance. The strategy aims to capture the global healthcare paradigm shift from treatment-focused approaches to prevention and longevity.
"Based on immediately operational CLIA lab infrastructure, we will generate early results in the US precision medicine market and maximize the value of our AI monitoring system," a Rokit Healthcare official said. A BioLabs official said, "Rokit Healthcare's technology enables a business structure capable of rapid expansion."
