The Korea Toray Science Foundation is accepting public applications for candidates for the 9th Korea Toray Science and Technology Award and Fellowship through the end of next month, the foundation announced Tuesday.
The Science and Technology Award will select two scientists who have made outstanding research achievements and significant contributions to the advancement of science and technology in the fundamental and applied fields of chemistry and materials, awarding each recipient a prize of 100 million won.
The Fellowship will identify five emerging scientists pursuing creative and original research with high development potential in the same fields as the Science and Technology Award, providing research funding of 50 million won per year for three years.
The Korea Toray Science Foundation was launched as a public interest corporation in 2018 to contribute to the advancement of science and technology and the development of talent in Korea. To date, it has selected 16 Science and Technology Award recipients, 35 Fellowship recipients, and 225 scholarship students in science and engineering fields at universities.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to be held in October.
