SK Networks (001740.KS) said Thursday it has appointed former Chairman Choi Shin-won as honorary chairman.
The company explained that the appointment was a decision to actively leverage Choi's extensive management expertise at a time when business uncertainties are deepening amid expanding global geopolitical risks.
In particular, the company expects his broad internal and external network to play a pivotal role in accelerating the transformation into an artificial intelligence-focused business holding company.
SK Networks previously stated at its 73rd annual general meeting that it would accelerate its transition from a rental and distribution-centered business to an AI-driven company.
As a management mentor, Honorary Chairman Choi will advise on the company's mid- to long-term strategy and the creation of various business synergies. He also plans to promote the corporate culture and core values based on SKMS (SK Management System), SK Group's proprietary management philosophy, to employees and other stakeholders, and to actively engage in social contribution activities.
"Honorary Chairman Choi will serve as a business leader who supports the company's innovation and fulfills its social responsibilities," an SK Networks official said.
