
Moon Ji-sung, director general of the Development Finance Bureau, has been appointed as the new International Economy Manager at the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MOEF).
The ministry announced Thursday that it appointed Moon as the new International Economy Manager. The position assists the minister and vice minister on foreign exchange policy including exchange rates, external economic affairs, and development finance.
Born in 1971, Moon graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in business administration and entered public service through the 38th Higher Civil Service Examination. He is regarded as an international finance expert, having served as director of the Foreign Currency Fund Division and International Finance Division, as well as International Finance Review Officer and Director General of the Development Finance Bureau at MOEF. He also served as head of the preparatory planning team for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Annual Meeting and previously worked at the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD).
