Seoul Economic Daily will host the "Defense Industry Strategy Forum" on March 26 at the Ruby Hall, Yeongbingwan, The Shilla Seoul in Jung-gu, Seoul, to explore ways to accelerate artificial intelligence transformation (AX) in the defense sector. Now in its second year, the forum will be held under the theme "The Current State and Development Strategy of Defense AI That Will Change the Future Defense Landscape."

The government is pursuing the advancement of military capabilities through AI utilization across all defense domains—known as "Defense AX"—to foster a smart and powerful military based on artificial intelligence and advanced science technology. The plan aims to gradually expand AI throughout defense operations, including establishing the "Defense Integrated AI Data Center" and improving defense-related AI legislation and weapons acquisition systems.

Defense AX is no longer a matter of choice but a core strategy that determines the survival of the Republic of Korea. This forum will bring together top experts to assess the current state of defense AI and explore optimal strategies for advancing Defense AX. A second session will feature a discussion on "Measures to Improve Advanced Defense Capability Acquisition Procedures" hosted by the Defense Acquisition Program Administration.
