HYBE expressed gratitude for the successful BTS concert at Gwanghwamun while apologizing for disruptions caused to local residents and businesses.
"We sincerely thank everyone for their warm support and consideration for the BTS performance held at Gwanghwamun yesterday," HYBE said on June 22. "First, we deeply appreciate the authorities for allowing us to use Gyeongbokgung Palace and Gwanghwamun, symbols of the Republic of Korea, as our performance venue."
The company added, "We are well aware that Gyeongbokgung and Gwanghwamun are spaces where Korea's history, identity, and contemporary culture breathe together. HYBE considers it a great honor to have presented a performance for the world at this location."
HYBE extended thanks to police, fire services, and government officials who ensured the event's safety. The company also apologized to nearby citizens, merchants, office workers, and visitors.
"Traffic controls, building restrictions, and security screenings for prohibited items were unavoidable measures to safely conduct a performance watched by the world," HYBE said. "We sincerely apologize to those who experienced inconvenience in their precious schedules and daily lives."
The company emphasized that K-pop's global growth stems from artists, fans, Korea's cultural foundation, and citizens' mature support. "The orderly attendance and considerate behavior made this performance shine even brighter," HYBE said.
HYBE pledged to work with relevant agencies on long-term measures to protect and promote national heritage and cultural properties.
The company also expressed condolences for victims of the Daejeon fire incident, offering sympathy to bereaved families and wishing speedy recovery for the injured.
BTS released their fifth studio album "Arirang" on June 20, their first new album in three years and nine months since the anthology album "Proof" in June 2022. The group performed at Gwanghwamun Square on June 21, drawing an estimated 104,000 fans.
BTS will next perform at "Spotify x BTS: Swimside" in New York on June 23, followed by their "BTS World Tour 'Arirang' in Goyang" concert series from April 9-12 at Goyang Stadium.
