South Jeolla Province announced on March 10 that it will conduct a nationwide survey on public data disclosure and utilization through April 5 to identify high-value public data that residents can tangibly benefit from and that can be practically used in the private sector.
Public data refers to standardized documents as well as unstructured materials in various formats—including images, videos, and audio—that public institutions create and manage in accordance with laws and regulations.
South Jeolla Province currently provides 515 types of data through its public data portal.
The province plans to shift its data disclosure approach from "supplier-centered" to "demand-centered." The policy aims to improve data utilization and satisfaction by incorporating feedback from the public as end users.
Anyone interested in public data can participate in the survey.
