Seoul's Gangnam District is recruiting participants for its "2026 Middle-Aged AI Expert Training and Customized AI Consulting Program" through January 27.
The program aims to train middle-aged adults as field consultants who directly assist small business owners, job seekers, aspiring entrepreneurs, and digitally underserved populations.
Twenty participants will be selected. Starting April 6, they will undergo eight weeks (160 hours) of intensive training in generative AI-based document creation, content production, workflow automation, and business diagnostic coaching. From June, participants will provide one-on-one customized consulting services across Gangnam District for approximately seven months.
Training is fully subsidized. During the program, participants will receive laptops and paid AI service accounts at no cost, along with activity stipends equivalent to minimum wage and a 1 million won ($700) full-attendance bonus.
"This is a practical model that combines the rich experience of middle-aged adults with AI capabilities and deploys graduates directly into the field," said Gangnam District Mayor Cho Sung-myung. "We will support them to become reliable partners for small business owners and digitally underserved groups, creating outcomes that lead to community mutual growth and quality job creation."
