The Korea Small and Medium Venture Business Distribution Agency (KOSMEA) held its 30th anniversary ceremony at its Mokdong headquarters in Seoul on Wednesday, the agency announced.
KOSMEA is a specialized agency supporting sales channels for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small business owners, established under the Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Act. Originally named the "SME Distribution Center" at its founding, the agency was renamed to its current title in November 2024 as its roles and programs expanded. KOSMEA currently operates the Donghaeng Festival, a nationwide consumption promotion campaign, along with SME marketing support programs and online sales channel support initiatives for small business owners.
The ceremony was attended by CEO Lee Tae-sik and all KOSMEA executives and staff. The event proceeded with a commendation awards ceremony, an integrity pledge, and the anniversary address.
"I extend my deepest gratitude to our executives and staff who have worked tirelessly for the agency despite challenging circumstances over the past 30 years, and to the SME operators, government officials, and partner organizations who have offered unwavering trust and support for our growth," CEO Lee said in his anniversary address.
"The year 2026, marking our 30th anniversary, is an important turning point where we must prepare for the next 30 years ahead. To achieve this, KOSMEA at 30 must challenge ourselves toward a new future with the spirit of youth," Lee said. "We will strengthen our role as a growth ladder through marketing and sales channel support for our customers—SMEs and small business owners—and transform into an agency that earns public praise and delivers results."
