HYBE's (352820.KS) global girl group KATSEYE's second EP "BEAUTIFUL CHAOS" ranked seventh among the best-selling physical albums in the United States last year. KATSEYE is the only girl group to make the top 10 in this category.
According to the "2025 Year-End Report" released by entertainment industry data firm Luminate on January 14 (local time), the album sold 186,000 copies in the U.S. during the tracking period (January 3, 2025 to January 1, 2026), earning a spot on the "U.S. Top 10 CD Albums" list.
Superstar Taylor Swift's 12th studio album "The Life of a Showgirl" claimed the top spot. Apart from Swift, K-pop boy groups including ENHYPEN and TOMORROW X TOGETHER dominated the rankings overall. Yet KATSEYE, a girl group in just its second year since debut, secured a place on the list, demonstrating its formidable presence.
Released in June last year, "BEAUTIFUL CHAOS" peaked at No. 4 on Billboard's main album chart "Billboard 200" and has remained on the chart for 28 consecutive weeks, proving its long-term commercial success. The hit track "Gabriela" from the album climbed to No. 21 on the latest Billboard "Hot 100" (dated January 17), setting the group's personal best, while another track "Gnarly" has charted for a cumulative 13 weeks.
KATSEYE was formed through "The Debut: Dream Academy," an audition project based on K-pop methodology, and debuted in the United States in June 2024. The group is cited as a prime example of success for the "multi-home, multi-genre" strategy led by HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk.
KATSEYE has been nominated for "Best New Artist" and "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance" at the 68th Grammy Awards next month. The group has also received nominations in four categories at the "2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards" scheduled for March.
