The Daejeon Metropolitan Government has been selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' 2026 Makerspace Support Program for the third consecutive year, securing 500 million won in central government funding.
The Manufacturing-Specialized Makerspace Support Program is a key initiative led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. It targets professional makerspaces and private organizations to promote maker activities and manufacturing startups.
The city plans to invest a total of 900 million won, including the central government funding. It will collaborate with Daejeon Creative Economy Innovation Center, the city's dedicated startup support agency, and FunFun3D, a manufacturing specialist firm. Together, they aim to build a one-stop manufacturing support system spanning idea development, prototype production and initial mass production.
Daejeon Creation Lab will serve as the hub platform. The city plans to strengthen ties with research institutions in Daedeok Innopolis, local universities and startup support agencies to further solidify its role as a technology startup hub.
