
GS Engineering & Construction (006360.KS) is participating in Earth Hour 2026, the world's largest lights-off campaign for the environment.
According to GS Engineering & Construction on Saturday, Earth Hour is the world's largest climate crisis response campaign organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), a nonprofit conservation organization. Since 2007, the campaign has been held every year on the last Saturday of March, with participants turning off lights for one hour starting at 8:30 p.m. to raise awareness of the severity of climate change and contribute to energy conservation and carbon emission reduction.
For this year's 20th edition of the event, GS Engineering & Construction's headquarters building Gran Seoul in Jongno-gu, Seoul, and the GS E&C Seocho Tower in Seocho-dong, which houses its R&D center, turned off their lights for one hour starting at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Subsidiaries including Xi S&D, Xi C&A, Elysian Gangchon and Elysian Jeju also participated.
In addition, GS Group affiliates including GS Tower, GS Neotek Building, Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas, The Westin Josun Seoul Parnas and Nine Tree by Parnas locations joined the campaign.
"Through our participation in Earth Hour, we will actively engage in eco-friendly campaigns such as climate change policy, energy conservation and carbon emission reduction," a GS Engineering & Construction official said. "In this ESG era, we will strive to lead the industry in the environmental sector as well."
Meanwhile, GS Engineering & Construction received an overall grade of 'A (Excellent)' in the 2025 ESG ratings for listed companies released by the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability (KCGS) last year, earning recognition as a leading eco-friendly construction firm. The company has maintained an overall A rating for seven consecutive years since 2019.
