BOK Chief Lee Aims to Finalize Dot Plot Before Term Ends

Bank of Korea Governor Lee Chang-yong said Thursday he wanted to complete the introduction of the dot plot before his term expires.

"I cannot deny that my desire to finish this before leaving played a role," Lee said at a press conference following the Monetary Policy Board's decision to hold the benchmark interest rate steady at 2.50%.

"This is something I have been preparing for three years since becoming BOK governor," he added.

The Monetary Policy Board on Thursday released its first-ever dot plot, showing interest rate projections from all seven board members, including Lee, for six months ahead.

Lee's term expires in April.
