LS Cable & System (006260) is strengthening its push into the North American offshore energy market in partnership with affiliate LS Marine Solution (060370). As it ramps up infrastructure investments, including the construction of a submarine cable plant in the U.S., the company plans to bolster its bidding competitiveness with integrated solutions spanning the design and installation of offshore power grids.
On the 4th, LS Cable & System announced it will showcase its core product lineup for offshore infrastructure at "OTC 2026 (Offshore Technology Conference)," held in Houston, U.S., from that day (local time) through the 7th. OTC is the world's largest exhibition bringing together global offshore energy and plant companies, and this year's event primarily featured technologies optimized for expanding North American submarine power grids and offshore wind projects.
At the exhibition, LS Cable & System is highlighting its 525-kilovolt (kV) high-voltage direct current (HVDC) submarine cables and specialty cables for offshore platforms. HVDC cables minimize power loss in long-distance transmission, making them key components for large-scale offshore wind farms and cross-border grid interconnections. The company emphasized its material technology, which maintains durability in extreme environments involving ultraviolet rays, salinity, and seawater, as well as its quality reliability backed by certifications from nine major global classification societies.
LS Cable & System is pursuing aggressive bidding activities in collaboration with its installation specialist subsidiary, LS Marine Solution. Using its large submarine cable-laying vessel (GL2021), LS Marine Solution is rapidly accumulating installation experience in offshore wind projects across Korea and Southeast Asia. Together with LS Marine Solution, LS Cable & System is enhancing its competitiveness by shifting to a turnkey model that handles the entire chain, from design and production to installation and maintenance, in a single contract.
LS Cable & System plans to apply these installation capabilities in the North American market as well, offering tailored integrated infrastructure solutions to local power authorities and energy developers.
