Coupang Eats is preparing a 'hyper-personalized' menu recommendation service utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
According to Seoul Economic Daily's comprehensive coverage on the 8th, Coupang Eats is preparing to introduce hyper-personalized ordering content. The company also moved to secure technological advantage by filing a related patent on the 24th of last month.
The service is centered on a paradigm shift in search and menu recommendation methods. Coupang Eats is expected to enhance its recommendation function by adding price and user ordering patterns to the existing delivery application approach that recommends menus based on food categories such as Western, Chinese, and Korean cuisine.
For example, if an app user sets a budget such as 'under 10,000 won' or 'under 20,000 won,' the service recommends restaurants and food within the price range by reflecting real-time delivery fees based on the current location and distance to restaurants. Additionally, it filters out stores that meet the conditions by prioritizing factors that users consider important, such as delivery speed, reviews, ratings, and available benefits.
This attempt is interpreted as reflecting the trend of consumers ordering based on spending amount rather than menu as the burden of delivery fees and dining-out prices has increased. Regarding this, Coupang stated, "This is part of service quality improvement to enhance customer satisfaction, and the specific service launch timing is undetermined."
