Samsung Electronics (005930) recorded its highest-ever OLED TV sales last year.
According to market research firm Omdia on the 18th, Samsung Electronics sold approximately 2 million OLED TV units last year. This represents a 38.1% increase year-over-year and marks the highest sales volume since the product's launch in 2022.
Analysts attribute the strong performance of Samsung OLED TVs to concentrated marketing efforts on premium lineups and a strategy of targeting consumers through diverse OLED product offerings. Consumers responded enthusiastically to "Glare Free" technology, which reduces light reflection and glare during viewing for clearer picture quality. The TVs' powerful gaming performance also proved popular among gaming enthusiasts.
Samsung Electronics plans to sustain OLED TV momentum this year. The company's 2026 Samsung OLED TV lineup has received "G-Sync Compatible" certification from Nvidia across all models. G-Sync Compatible is a technology that synchronizes display refresh rates with graphics card frame rates. It minimizes "tearing," where images appear misaligned, and "stuttering," where visuals appear choppy—features considered essential by gamers. Samsung also plans to introduce "Samsung Art Store," an art subscription service, to select OLED TV models for the first time.
The global OLED TV market grew approximately 6% from 6.07 million units in 2024 to 6.43 million units last year. LG Electronics led the market with approximately 3.22 million units sold. Sony, ranked third in the OLED TV market, sold only about 560,000 units, a 15.5% decline compared to 2024.
