LF D&L, a total landscape solution company, announced Wednesday that it held the "Second Landscape Design Exchange Seminar" with SWA Group, a global landscape design and urban planning firm, marking a full-scale effort to strengthen business competitiveness centered on landscape planning and design.
The seminar focused on repositioning landscaping as a core strategic element that designs the direction and value of spaces from the initial project planning stage, rather than simply a construction domain. Participants also worked to establish a planning and design collaboration model to apply global design standards to the Korean market.
Attendees included LF D&L CEO Lee Deok-woo and key officials, SWA Group San Francisco Studio Director Yoo Ji-hyun, and officials from GS Engineering & Construction's landscape design division. Participants shared market trends where landscape planning and design capabilities directly translate into business competitiveness in premium residential complexes and urban mixed-use development projects, and discussed the potential for expanding an organic collaboration structure connecting planning, design, construction, and maintenance.
SWA Group Director Yoo Ji-hyun introduced global waterfront and mixed-use cultural space project cases conducted by the San Francisco Studio, providing insights on how landscape planning and design define the character of spaces and user experience in the early stages of large-scale development.

While the first seminar laid the foundation for collaboration, this second seminar holds significance in further systematizing the roles and processes at the landscape "planning and design" stage. Participants intensively reviewed ways to apply global-level precise planning and design details to domestic projects, from concept setting at the basic design conception stage to landscape program composition and planting and facility installation plans. In the process, they identified improvement tasks for the domestic landscape design environment and derived applicable elements that could enhance project completeness and differentiation.
"This second seminar goes beyond simple cooperation—it is a venue where a global landscape design firm and Korea's leading total landscape solution company become one team to explore the future direction of the landscape industry," LF D&L CEO Lee Deok-woo said. "LF D&L will establish itself as a partner that presents differentiated landscape solutions from the initial project stage by strengthening planning and design capabilities based on construction experience."
LF D&L and SWA Group plan to continue regular technical and personnel exchanges, and will continue to present planning and design-centered landscape solutions focusing on large-scale mixed-use development and premium residential projects.
