A video of a humanoid robot cleaning a living room like a human has captured public attention.
Silicon Valley robotics startup Figure AI released footage on the 10th showing its self-developed robot Helix 02 moving around a living room, tidying tables and sofas.
In the video, Helix 02 walks into the living room, sprays cleaner on a table, wipes it with a cloth, then lifts its arm to drape the cloth over its shoulder. The robot then picks up a white mug from the table and moves it to the kitchen counter, gathers scattered trash into a bin, and finally arranges disheveled cushions on the sofa, transforming the cluttered living room into a tidy space.
Online commenters responded with remarks including "Really impressive," "The room cleaned by the robot is cleaner than mine," and "The motion of wrapping the towel around its body is more natural than mine."

Musk Takes Notice of Figure AI Robot
Tesla CEO Elon Musk, viewing the footage on X (formerly Twitter), expressed curiosity, asking "Was this autonomous or teleoperated?"
Figure AI emphasized the robot operates in "fully autonomous mode."
The company explained that Helix 02 learns from pixel data in camera footage to perceive its surroundings and autonomously controls its full-body movements. While previous Helix models could only perform upper-body operations, this version activates the entire system including lower-body movements. Figure AI expressed confidence that this model has elevated humanoid robots' ability to respond to real-world environments.
Meanwhile, Figure AI's humanoid robots have been deployed at BMW's Spartanburg plant in the United States. BMW reportedly accumulated over 1,250 hours of operational data over approximately 10 months using Figure AI robots. The deployed robots received positive reviews for performing precise tasks such as walking through the factory, carrying parts, and autonomously correcting and assembling misaligned components. BMW stated it is also considering the potential introduction of Figure AI's next-generation models.
