Starbucks Korea announced Monday that it will relaunch its discontinued Chai Tea Latte on April 1 to mark April Fools' Day.
The Chai Tea Latte, known for its spicy aroma, distinctive cinnamon flavor and sweet chai taste, had built a dedicated fan base before its domestic sales ended in 2024. In response to persistent customer requests for its return, Starbucks decided to offer the drink as a limited-time release for approximately two weeks from April 1 through April 14. When the company previewed the relaunch on social media channels including Instagram and Threads, the posts drew more than 400,000 views, reflecting strong consumer interest.
The beverage will be available at 112 Starbucks locations housed within Shinsegae Group affiliates, including E-Mart, Starfield and Shinsegae Department Store outlets. On the April 1 launch date, the first 30 customers at each store who place their order directly with a barista will receive a complimentary tall-size Chai Tea Latte.
"We planned this Chai Tea Latte relaunch to create a fun and unique customer event for April Fools' Day," a Starbucks official said. "We will continue to listen to customer feedback and roll out a variety of events going forward."
