Yang Hyun-jun (Celtic) has rejoined Hong Myung-bo's Korean national team ahead of the final tune-up matches before the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, now just three months away.
Head coach Hong Myung-bo announced the squad for the March European tour friendlies at Korea Football Park in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province, on the 16th.
Core players from the November 2025 friendlies against Bolivia and Ghana retained their spots. The list includes Son Heung-min (LAFC), Lee Jae-sung (Mainz), Kim Min-jae (Bayern Munich), and Lee Kang-in (Paris Saint-Germain).
Yang Hyun-jun, recalled after nine months, has been in exceptional form with six goals since December 2025, including a brace the previous day.
"He's showing great momentum right now, so naturally I thought he should be on the national team," Hong said. "His condition is better than when he was previously called up, and he's full of confidence from his recent goals. I expect him to perform well in these away friendlies."

The team departs from Incheon International Airport on the 23rd. They face Côte d'Ivoire in Milton Keynes near London on the 28th at 11 p.m. Korean time, followed by Austria in Vienna on April 1 at 3:45 a.m. Korean time.
Hong will finalize the World Cup roster in mid-May before departing for a pre-tournament camp in the United States. After two friendlies during the camp, the team will arrive at their base camp in Guadalajara, Mexico, in the first week of June for final preparations.
