Snowflake, an artificial intelligence data cloud company, announced it will more aggressively pursue the Korean market with the opening of its official office in the country.
According to the IT industry on the 15th, Snowflake Korea held a media briefing on the 12th in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to commemorate the expansion and relocation of its office. Choi Ki-young, Country Manager of Snowflake Korea, said, "We expanded our office as our Korean business has grown and expanded," adding, "We will further solidify our position in the Korean market as a strategic partner helping customers with digital transformation (DX) and AI transformation (AX)."
Founded in the United States in 2012 with more than 45 offices worldwide, Snowflake reported product revenue of approximately $4.47 billion for fiscal year 2026 ending in late January, up 29% year-over-year. The company established its Korean branch in November 2011 and counts approximately 80% of Korea's top 10 conglomerates as customers. The Korean office currently has about 85 employees, and the new office can accommodate approximately 150 workers in anticipation of continued business growth. Choi explained, "The key aspect of this office opening is that we have prepared a space where customers and partners can continuously receive training and support, as our organization has grown alongside our business."

Lim Jin-sik, Head of Solution Engineering at Snowflake Korea, cited "fully managed service" as the greatest advantage of Snowflake's AI data cloud. Lim said, "There is no need to operate data lakes and data warehouses separately, allowing companies to build architectures suited to their specific use cases." This means companies can conveniently utilize raw data (data lake) and organized data (data warehouse) through Snowflake's AI data cloud without managing them separately.
Snowflake plans to further enhance customer convenience using natural language-based AI agents. "Cortex AI" is the core tool implementing this strategy. Cortex AI is a suite of AI services with various functions including code generation, search, and analysis. A key feature is the ability to immediately utilize external AI models from OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, Meta, and Mistral within the platform.
Furthermore, Snowflake recently launched "Snowflake Intelligence" for deeper analysis of enterprise data. Snowflake Intelligence is a tool that searches both internal structured and unstructured data along with external data to deliver results when customers ask questions in natural language. Lim emphasized, "External AI services like Claude and ChatGPT cannot directly access customer data, but Snowflake can utilize it directly since customer data resides within the platform."
