A man in his 40s wearing an electronic ankle monitor stabbed a woman in her 30s to death in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, and was arrested about an hour after fleeing the scene.
According to police on the 14th, a report was received around 9 a.m. that a woman had been stabbed on a street in Onam-eup, Namyangju.
Police and paramedics transported the victim to a hospital, but she was pronounced dead.
The suspect, identified only as "A," reportedly approached the woman by vehicle before stabbing her with a weapon.
A was wearing an electronic ankle monitor, police said. The victim had been under protective measures, and the two were in a relationship, according to authorities.
A was arrested in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province, at approximately 10:10 a.m.
