The Public Procurement Service announced it will hold a "Government Procurement Cultural Products Special Exhibition" at Culture Station Seoul 284, a multi-purpose cultural space, from March 13 to 15.
The special exhibition, themed "True Colors of Korea (韓國本色)," was organized to promote the excellence of traditional Korean cultural products and support market expansion.
A total of 213 items will be displayed, including traditional hanbok, folk paintings, and traditional crafts such as najungjangdo (mother-of-pearl inlaid knives), as well as lifestyle products featuring traditional aesthetics including scarves, mother-of-pearl tumblers, and cutlery sets.
During the event, visitors can participate free of charge in various traditional culture experience programs, including gayageum (traditional Korean string instrument) playing, traditional calligraphy, and mother-of-pearl keyring making. Exhibition products will also be available for on-site purchase.
Since 1999, the Public Procurement Service has designated outstanding traditional crafts as "Government Procurement Cultural Products" and supplied them through the Government e-Procurement System (Nara Marketplace) online shopping mall. This year, the agency plans to strengthen efforts to promote traditional cultural products through expanded exhibitions and exhibition booth support.
"With the recent spread of K-Culture generating growing domestic and international interest in our traditional culture, I hope this special exhibition will serve as an opportunity to widely promote the excellence of government procurement cultural products," said Baek Seung-bo, Administrator of the Public Procurement Service. "The Public Procurement Service will continue to expand domestic and international exhibition and promotional opportunities to raise interest in traditional cultural products and support market expansion."
