Hankook Tire & Technology (161390) announced on the 12th that it will supply its ultra-high-performance sport tire "Ventus S1 evo3" as original equipment for "The New Mercedes-Benz S-Class," the German automaker's flagship sedan.
The New Mercedes-Benz S-Class is Mercedes-Benz's flagship sedan, featuring the company's proprietary operating system "MB.OS" that utilizes artificial intelligence technology.
The Ventus S1 evo3 supplied by Hankook Tire features a reinforcement belt made of high-strength advanced aramid fiber and a high-purity synthetic silica compound, delivering excellent grip and driving stability at high speeds. The outer grooves are designed with an "interlocking structure" resembling meshing gear teeth to prevent hydroplaning on wet roads.
Additionally, the "In & Out Dual Pitch" design, which varies the pattern spacing between the inner and outer sections of the tire, enhances braking performance and minimizes tire noise.
Mercedes-Benz grants its "Mercedes Original" certification mark to parts suppliers for original equipment. Hankook Tire has obtained the "MO" mark through this tire supply agreement.
This supply deal has further strengthened the partnership between Hankook Tire and Mercedes-Benz. Hankook Tire supplies original equipment tires for various Mercedes-Benz models including the S-Class, A-Class, C-Class, E-Class, and GLC. In 2024, the company expanded its portfolio to include the high-performance sports car Mercedes-AMG GT Coupe.
