The public sector is emerging as a new growth market for artificial intelligence platform companies as the government takes the lead in digital transformation (DX).
The government is expanding collaboration with private enterprises for DX initiatives, recognizing that platform companies possess proven AI and digital technology capabilities.
AI avatar startup Goodgang Labs announced on the 10th that it will pilot an "AI Avatar Civil Service Assistant" service in partnership with Miryang City in South Gyeongsang Province, combining AI technology with voice recognition and synthesis capabilities.
The AI Avatar Civil Service Assistant is designed to automatically guide citizens through frequently asked inquiries while providing a user experience similar to face-to-face consultation. The service is accessible through a dedicated kiosk installed at the Civil Affairs and Land Registration Division of Miryang City Hall.
According to Goodgang Labs, users can scan a QR code with their smartphones to access the service via web 24 hours a day regardless of location, significantly reducing time and space constraints for civil service users.
Goodgang Labs will operate the pilot service through the end of next month, closely analyzing user feedback and usage data to enhance service quality. The company plans to conduct a final review with Miryang City on long-term implementation based on the analysis results.
AI and DX specialist Inswave Systems announced on the 9th that its integrated non-face-to-face platform "DX Square" has obtained SaaS standard-level Cloud Service Security Certification from the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) under the Ministry of Science and ICT.
Inswave's DX Square is a solution that digitizes complex business processes to create systematic and convenient business environments. Having secured essential security credentials for public cloud environments, Inswave is expected to make a full-scale entry into the public SaaS market.

Environmental resource AI data company Gatda also signed a memorandum of understanding with Yuseong District in Daejeon Metropolitan City on the 9th of last month for "waste data DX and resource circulation cooperation."
The agreement was established to expand waste data digital transformation and promote locally-led DX success stories nationwide, building on the successful operation of a waste QR code application system that Yuseong District introduced as the nation's first in early last year.
