With fire risks rising during spring, ADT Caps is reinforcing its fire response systems for industrial facilities.
ADT Caps, the physical security brand operated by SK Shieldus, announced on the 11th that it is strengthening flame detector-based fire response systems targeting industrial facilities. The initiative aims to prevent major accidents during spring, when dry weather and strong winds make fires more frequent.
Concerns are growing over fires at factories, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities spreading to nearby forests.
According to National Fire Agency statistics, spring fires accounted for 27% of all fires over the past five years. Property damage during spring reached 44% of the annual total—the highest among all seasons.
ADT Caps' analysis of compensation data from the past two years showed fire incidents increased 35.6% last year compared to the previous year. The manufacturing sector accounted for 83% of all compensation claims filed for fire damage, indicating higher fire risks than other industries.
Manufacturing sites use large quantities of flammable materials and high-heat equipment. Most facilities are located near forests on urban outskirts, creating significant risk of wildfires if initial suppression fails.
ADT Caps is expanding deployment of flame detector-based fire response systems, which respond faster than conventional smoke detection methods.
Unlike standard fire detectors that activate only when smoke reaches ceiling sensors, ADT Caps flame detectors identify specific wavelengths generated by flames within seconds, enabling faster initial response. The devices are available in ceiling-mounted and wall-mounted configurations. Wall-mounted units can be installed indoors or outdoors with 180-degree horizontal adjustment.
When flame detectors capture abnormal signals, they immediately connect to ADT Caps' physical security monitoring infrastructure for rapid response. The control center monitors situations in real-time through on-site AI-powered CCTV cameras. If a fire is confirmed, the center provides alerts, dispatches emergency responders, and reports to relevant authorities.
An SK Shieldus ADT Caps official said, "At industrial sites, damage increases exponentially when equipment operations halt, so early detection and response are critical." The official added, "We will support safety and asset protection through our response system that integrates flame detectors with security infrastructure."
