Samsung Electro-Mechanics (009150) announced on the 10th that it was named to the "Platinum Club," the highest rating for climate change response, at the CDP Korea Awards hosted by CDP Korea.
CDP is an international non-profit organization that evaluates corporate environmental activities. Samsung Electro-Mechanics has been selected for the Platinum Club eight times to date, the most among Korean companies.
The company explained that it received high marks for signing renewable energy power purchase agreements (PPAs) and for thoroughly managing greenhouse gas emissions across the entire product lifecycle.
"We are doing our best for sustainable management, including climate change response and minimizing environmental impact," said Jang Deok-hyun, President and CEO of Samsung Electro-Mechanics. "We will become a trusted company by internalizing sustainable management."
