Island Castle, the largest integrated leisure complex in northern Gyeonggi Province, has entered the wedding business in earnest. The Uijeongbu facility held its first wedding ceremony on the 7th, unveiling a "one-stop wedding" service that combines ceremonies, accommodations, and banquets.
Island Castle is an integrated facility featuring a tourist hotel, indoor and outdoor water parks, hot springs, and therapeutic pools. The venue recently reopened its wedding hall after renovations that added hotel-grade banquet services, ample parking, and guest rooms.
Approximately 40 wedding reservations have been confirmed, with over 100 consultations currently underway. Special premium benefits are being offered to mark the opening.
Reflecting the steady three-year increase in small weddings with fewer than 150 guests, Island Castle is preparing a new "Petit Wedding Hall" with approximately 150 seats. The venue combines the grandeur of a duplex structure with modern styling, aiming to differentiate itself through a private atmosphere and emotionally appealing spatial design.
Previously, couples in northern Gyeonggi Province often traveled to Seoul or the southern Seoul metropolitan area for their weddings. Island Castle plans to stem this outflow by creating a "destination wedding culture" that integrates accommodations, banquets, tourism, and local commerce.
"We want to show that hotel-quality weddings are now possible in Uijeongbu," said Yoon Se-ki, CEO of Island Castle. "We will grow into a leading wedding platform representing northern Gyeonggi Province while fostering mutual prosperity with the local community."
