Breaking News: President Lee Says Korea's Geopolitical Risk Will Disappear

President Lee Jae-myung said Wednesday that "Korea's geopolitical risk on the Korean Peninsula will disappear as we maintain stability even if we make some concessions."

The president made the remarks at a meeting with foreign investment companies held at Cheong Wa Dae.

"There will be no unnecessary escalation of confrontation and conflict with North Korea," Lee said.

"We will improve governance structures to create reasonable corporate management structures where shareholders are properly treated," he added. "We will also thoroughly ensure fairness and transparency in the stock market."

Lee emphasized that "Korea will undergo a major transformation centered on advanced industries," noting that "the core of this is artificial intelligence and renewable energy."

"We will continue to provide direction for industrial and economic policies," the president said. "We will rationalize regulations and eliminate unnecessary regulations that you find most inconvenient."
