Gyeonggi Employers Federation Successfully Runs Senior Internship Program

The Gyeonggi Employers Federation (Chairman Kim Chun-ho) successfully operated the "Field Training Support (Senior Internship) Program" administered by the Ministry of Health and Welfare this year, providing stable employment opportunities for seniors aged 60 and older and achieving meaningful results in promoting elderly employment in the local community.
The Field Training Support (Senior Internship) Program is a flagship elderly employment initiative by the Ministry of Health and Welfare that supports companies with labor costs to promote new and continued employment of people aged 60 and older. The program aims to expand senior citizens' participation in local communities, identify suitable occupations for seniors, and provide work opportunities for elderly individuals with working capabilities.
During this year's program implementation, the Gyeonggi Employers Federation established a comprehensive support system including customized corporate consulting, participant job adaptation support, and strengthened cooperation with related local organizations to create stable working environments for senior workers.
The federation expanded corporate outreach, particularly in manufacturing, logistics, and transportation industries with high demand for senior workers, and conducted tailored matching based on participant capability analysis, raising satisfaction levels for both employers and job seekers.
To help participants maintain long-term employment, the organization systematically operated regular counseling, job-specific supplementary training connections, and workplace environment inspections to strengthen the foundation for employment retention. For participating companies, the federation provided administrative support, HR and labor consulting, and connections to the Gyeonggi Employers Federation's corporate support programs, easing the burden of senior hiring and spreading positive perceptions about utilizing senior workers.
Notably, the Gyeonggi Employers Federation was selected as an "Excellent Organization for Senior Employment and Social Activity Support Programs" last year and received an encouragement award. This recognition comprehensively acknowledged various efforts including expansion of participating companies, systematic employment support operations, and improved participant satisfaction, serving as an important stepping stone for continued project implementation and credibility.
"This program was meaningful in helping senior workers demonstrate their experience and capabilities in the workplace again," a Gyeonggi Employers Federation official said. "We will continue to contribute to creating quality jobs where local communities and businesses can grow together and improving elderly welfare."
One participating senior said, "Being able to work again in a new environment has brought vitality to my life, and the various practical experiences have greatly helped me think about my future career path."
The Gyeonggi Employers Federation plans to accelerate efforts to establish stable employment foundations for the elderly and build sustainable employment models through expanded cooperation with related local organizations, improved corporate awareness, and strengthened senior capability development programs.
