Daegu Named Top Performer in Consumer Coupon Program Execution

Daegu Metropolitan City was selected as the top-performing local government in consumer coupon program execution at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Grand Local Finance Award, the city announced Monday.

The evaluation assessed all 243 local governments nationwide based on coupon distribution performance, expansion of participating merchants, application and distribution convenience, and promotional efforts.

Among the 13 metropolitan cities and provinces selected as high performers, Daegu achieved the highest "A" rating alongside Incheon, South Gyeongsang Province, and Jeju, securing 500 million won in special grants.

Through collaboration between district offices and iM Bank, Daegu recorded distribution rates of 99.2% for the first round and 98.0% for the second round.

"We will continue to discover and implement policies that citizens can feel in their daily lives, with the local economy as our top priority," said Kim Jung-ki, acting mayor of Daegu.
