Gyeonggi Tourism Organization Wraps Up Regional 'Peace Concert' Series

Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced Thursday that it has completed its "Peace Concert," a regional music concert series aimed at promoting the peaceful value of the DMZ through music.
The event began on November 28 in Gwangju and toured through Paju and Yangpyeong before concluding in Bucheon on December 10.
The initiative was launched after consensus was reached during the Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly's Planning and Finance Committee review of a supplementary budget for DMZ concerts under the Peace Cooperation Bureau in September. Lawmakers agreed on the need for a new policy approach to spread peace and culture throughout the province.
Held under the slogan "Gyeonggi, Where Peace Stays," the concert series partnered with the popular music program "Picnic Live Outing" (MBC Plus). The events featured performances by popular artists including Lee Bo-ram, Shin Yong-jae, Kim Won-joo and Kyung-seo, alongside local artists, set against landmark locations in each region, providing visitors with entertainment and attractions.
Local artists representing Paju, Yangpyeong and Bucheon took the stage, including the Da Vinci Duo, the Korea Theater Association Yangpyeong Branch and the South-North Korean National Arts Troupe. They sang of peace and harmony through music, conveying the peaceful value and symbolic meaning of the DMZ to audiences.
The concerts are scheduled to be broadcast through various channels including television and YouTube.
