Kakao Updates AI Agent App Kanana With Personalization, Group Photo Features

Kakao (035720.KS) is expanding personalized user experiences by adding interest-based features to its artificial intelligence agent service Kanana.

The company announced Wednesday that it has rolled out an update to Kanana incorporating these changes.

Kakao added an interest registration function to enhance personalization. When users register their areas of interest in the app, the AI Mate remembers these preferences to optimize responses and deliver customized content throughout the app.

The company also introduced a group photo generation feature using AI Studio. The AI Studio function allows users to create group photos with up to six people in their desired concept. It supports nine different concepts including romance fantasy, youth narrative, kids model, Y2K style, and Christmas. Users can generate four free images daily.

Kakao now supports web search mode within chat rooms, aiming to improve the accuracy and reliability of information searches.

"We wanted to focus on features that can improve usability in users' daily lives," said Kim Jong-hak, Kanana Performance Leader at Kakao. "We plan to continue making steady efforts to expand personalized user experiences and evolve toward community AI."
