LG Unveils AI-Powered 'LG Signature' Lineup With Voice-Controlled Refrigerators

LG Electronics (066570.KS) is unveiling the second-generation lineup of its ultra-premium home appliance brand "LG Signature," featuring artificial intelligence technology including refrigerators capable of natural conversation with users. Marking the brand's 10th anniversary, the company aims to become a "game changer" in the global home appliance market by incorporating large language models (LLM) and dramatically enhancing core product performance.

LG Electronics announced Wednesday that it will showcase 10 new LG Signature products at CES 2026, which opens January 6 (local time) in Las Vegas. LG Signature has been the company's flagship brand symbolizing its technological prowess and design capabilities since its debut in 2016.

Advanced AI technology is the common thread running through the new products. The refrigerator features LLM-based high-performance voice recognition. When a user asks, "Hi LG, what mode is best for storing meat for about a week?" the AI understands the context and automatically sets the optimal storage mode.

The hassle of managing ingredients has also been reduced. The "Smart InstaView refrigerator" features internal cameras that automatically recognize when ingredients are added or removed. Based on the identified ingredients, it even suggests customized recipes. The "Gourmet AI" function in the oven range identifies ingredients through a camera and recommends approximately 80 different cooking methods. It also includes an "AI Browning" feature that alerts users when bread is perfectly toasted.

Hardware performance has also become more sophisticated through AI integration. The washer and dryer feature the "AI DD motor," which analyzes the weight and soil level of laundry to operate with motions that minimize fabric damage. Through "AI CoreTech," which combines LG Electronics' component technology with AI, the company has achieved both energy efficiency and performance.

The product lineup has expanded from existing washers and refrigerators to include wall ovens, range hoods, and cooktops, bringing the total to 10 products. By establishing a full kitchen appliance lineup, the company is accelerating its push into the built-in market. Design quality has also been enhanced through collaboration with Italian luxury furniture brand "Poliform." The company is also pursuing region-specific design strategies. Metal materials emphasizing durability will be applied for North American and Middle Eastern markets. For Asian markets including Korea and European markets, calm colors and matte materials are used to harmonize with interior design.

"With the Signature lineup we are newly introducing for our 10th anniversary, we will set new standards for premium home appliances," said Baek Seung-tae, Executive Vice President and Head of the HS Business Division at LG Electronics. "We will further strengthen our leadership in the global market."
