GH Declares 'Year One' of Advanced Safety Management Initiative

Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Development Corporation (GH) held a ceremony at its Suwon headquarters on Wednesday to declare the "Year One of Advanced Safety and Health Management" and announce its safety and health management policy for company-wide safety innovation, with approximately 300 employees from GH and partner companies in attendance.

At the event, GH announced six strategic initiatives and 35 innovation tasks, declaring the full-scale strengthening of its safety management system with a strong commitment from the CEO that "GH will take full responsibility for the safety of all workers at its worksites."

The six strategic initiatives include: strengthening safety organizations and leading public safety; adopting AI technology for industrial safety; expanding labor safety infrastructure; establishing and operating autonomous prevention systems; enhancing the effectiveness of worksite safety management; and promoting safety culture with strengthened communication and support.

Key innovation tasks include expanding dedicated safety organizations in line with the government's comprehensive labor safety measures and raising the execution standards for industrial safety and health management expenses to the highest level among public institutions, while reorganizing the organization and systems.

GH will also actively adopt AI technology for industrial safety. The corporation plans to introduce the "GH-Safety AI Manager," a generative AI-based safety specialist system as the first among public institutions, and establish an all-in-one disaster and safety integrated management system that manages construction projects and contracted operations, creating a framework for immediate response when accidents occur.

Additionally, GH will pursue ISO 45001 international standard certification to strengthen prevention-focused safety management, improve the safety rating system for construction sites, and develop risk assessment models for contracted worksites, aiming to comprehensively elevate safety capabilities across the organization.

GH has established itself as a model case for safety management among public institutions, achieving first place for four consecutive years through last year in government-led safety management evaluations, driven by continuous innovation efforts including establishing Korea's first client-centered smart safety management system.

"This declaration ceremony marks a new starting point for GH's safety and health management, moving beyond declaration to action," said GH President Kim Yong-jin. "Together with our partner companies, we will create accident-free workplaces and advance sustainable safety innovation across all areas including systems, technology, and culture to become an institution that leads public safety."
