Google Korea Appoints Former Apple, Samsung Executive Yoon Koo as New President

Google Korea has appointed Yoon Koo, former president of Apple Korea, as its new president to fill the vacant position.

Google Korea announced on the 12th that Yoon will assume the role of president starting January 5 next year, overseeing the company's advertising sales operations.

Yoon previously served as senior director at Microsoft and as executive vice president at Samsung Electronics before becoming president of Apple Korea. He currently serves as an outside director at Krafton (259960.KS) and is known to be working as a board member while founding a marketing solutions startup in the United States. He holds a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame and a doctorate in business administration from the University of Iowa.

Google Korea described the incoming president as a technology management expert who has led digital transformation and sustainable growth over more than 20 years at global leading companies. "We expect his extensive experience and leadership to significantly contribute to accelerating Google Korea's future growth momentum," the company said.
