Dongseo University, Motorhead to Jointly Develop AI-Based Next-Gen VFX Technology

Dongseo University and Motorhead recently signed a memorandum of understanding at the Global Room in the university's New Millennium Hall to jointly research AI-based next-generation VFX pipelines and train industry-ready professionals.

Attendees included Dongseo University President Jang Je-kuk, Vice President Cho Dae-su, Director Hwang Ki-hyun, Dean Cho Seung-woo, and Professor Lee Jun-seok, who moderated the event. Motorhead was represented by co-CEOs Noh Geuk-tae and Han Tae-jung, along with Director Kim Dong-su.

Under the agreement, both parties will advance AI-based VFX pipeline development and pursue joint research and development. They will also focus on cultivating industry-tailored professionals and strengthening employment linkages.

Additionally, the partnership will expand field training and internship opportunities, grow Busan's visual content industry ecosystem, and establish a virtuous cycle model for industry-academia cooperation.

"This agreement allows us to localize advanced visual technology infrastructure, which has been concentrated in the Seoul metropolitan area, through collaboration with universities in the Busan region," President Jang said. "We will expand technological cooperation into next-generation content fields utilizing AI, laying the foundation to elevate Busan into Asia's premier R&D hub for visual technology."
