Naver Launches Digital Warranty Service 'Naver Collection'

Consumers purchasing electronics or high-end products on Naver Shopping will now be able to receive, store, and use product warranties in digital form.
Naver (035420.KS) announced on January 11 that it has officially launched 'Naver Collection,' a digital warranty service designed to provide consumers with secure purchases. Naver Collection issues digital warranties instead of easily misplaced paper warranties when customers purchase products from brand stores on Naver Shopping. The issued digital warranties are automatically stored in the Naver app.
When users confirm a purchase from a brand store offering Naver Collection, a digital warranty with a hologram badge for anti-counterfeiting is automatically issued through the Naver app. If users need after-sales service during the warranty period, they can simply show the digital warranty stored in the Naver app to request repairs without bringing a paper warranty.
Naver conducted a beta service for Naver Collection for approximately one year prior to the official launch, securing partnerships with about 600 brands. Brands issuing Naver Collection warranties include official stores on Naver Shopping such as Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, and Adidas Fitness, as well as global luxury brands including Coach, Vivienne Westwood, and Marni. Additionally, more than 30 brands within 'High-End,' the luxury product section launched in October within Naver Store, are utilizing Naver Collection.
Naver expects the digital warranty service will help sellers enhance brand credibility without risks of counterfeit products or impersonation, while also contributing to carbon emission reduction by decreasing paper warranty usage. The company also anticipates improved warranty convenience for buyers who can store and use warranties without risk of loss. Accordingly, Naver plans to expand the service scope to enable use of Naver Collection outside of Naver Store. The company is partnering with Sabangnet, an integrated shopping mall management service, to support the adoption of digital warranty solutions on external online sales channels.
"Naver Collection is a digital warranty that can satisfy both sellers and buyers who value brand identity," said Na Yun-jae, Naver's Digital ID & Authentication Leader. "We will diversify templates to match the characteristics of each product category including digital, fashion, and beauty, and partner with more brands to bring innovation to the digital warranty market."
Meanwhile, Naver is holding a promotional event worth approximately 20 million won until January 20 next year to celebrate the official launch of Naver Collection. Users can receive up to 1,000 Npay points on a first-come, first-served basis when a shared warranty is viewed by the recipient. Those who write service usage reviews will be eligible for a drawing to win up to 50,000 won in Npay points.
