Daejeon Hosts 2025 Social Economy Festival

The Daejeon Metropolitan Government held the "2025 Daejeon Social Economy Festival" at the Daejeon Social Economy Innovation Town on Wednesday, sharing the achievements of social economy initiatives pursued throughout the year.
Approximately 200 attendees, including social enterprise business owners, citizens and officials from related organizations, participated in the event, reaffirming the growth potential of the social economy sector.
This year's festival featured commendation awards for 26 individuals who contributed to social economy development, a video presentation summarizing the 2025 policy achievements, and best practice presentations from companies that carried out projects in the field.
A social economy marketplace operated alongside the event drew visitors with 18 participating companies showcasing product sales and experience programs. The venue featured various products including pet supplies, handmade soap and nurungji (scorched rice snacks), along with Christmas seasonal items, creating a warm year-end atmosphere.
"Daejeon's social economy is an important partner in solving regional problems and caring for vulnerable groups," Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo said in his remarks. "We will further strengthen the growth foundation for businesses centered on the Innovation Town and build a substantive social economy ecosystem that citizens can feel."
