LG Electronics Supplies Korea's Largest LED System to Virtual Studio

LG Electronics (066570.KS) announced Thursday that it has supplied LED solutions for virtual production to Studio V, a newly established virtual studio at Studio Cube in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon.

Studio Cube is a public studio established in 2017 to develop Korea's broadcasting and video content industry. Studio V is the country's largest virtual studio that inserts virtual backgrounds into dramas and films.

LG Electronics installed a main screen measuring 60 meters wide and 8 meters tall at Studio V. Including the ceiling screen and mobile auxiliary screens, the total area reaches 782.5 square meters, making it the largest in Korea. This is larger than approximately 660 65-inch TVs combined.

The screens feature a high refresh rate of 7,680Hz, which prevents flickering when filming with cameras. The display meets 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut standard set by the Digital Cinema Initiatives, reproducing vivid colors true to the original footage.

The ultra-large screen is assembled using a modular system, connecting panels like building blocks for easy installation. Each module weighs approximately 5.9 kilograms.

LG Electronics said it aims to lead the virtual production market, which has emerged as a new frontier for commercial displays, following this solution supply.
