Dr.G Donates 2,100 Skincare Kits to Hallym Burn Foundation

The Hallym Burn Foundation announced Wednesday that it received 2,100 "Skin Health Support Kits" from dermocosmetic brand Dr.G to help burn patients recover their skin health and daily lives.

Burn patients' skin differs from that of healthy individuals, as sweat glands and sebaceous glands are often damaged or non-functional, making it difficult to regulate oil and moisture balance. This significantly weakens the skin barrier function, causing moisture to evaporate easily, leading to dryness and itching, and potentially worsening hypertrophic scars. Therefore, using moisturizers and applying sunscreen to prevent pigmentation are essential.

Dr.G is a brand founded by Dr. Ahn Kun-young, a dermatologist who experienced burns as a child, and has grown based on dermatological science. Since 2022, the company has partnered with the Hallym Burn Foundation, donating approximately 300 million won ($220,000) for medical expenses, psychological treatment and independence support.

The support kits, packaged by company employees, contain two types of moisturizers and one sunscreen to protect sensitive post-treatment skin, handwritten cards from employees, and eco-bags made by three burn survivors affiliated with Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital. The donation is expected to provide practical assistance to burn patients struggling with skin care during the dry winter season.

"We are delighted to join our employees in this meaningful event to support the rehabilitation and independence of burn survivors together with the Hallym Burn Foundation," said Lee Joo-ho, CEO of Dr.G. "We hope this contribution will help patients regain their healthy daily lives, even if in a small way."

Heo Jun, chairman of the Hallym Burn Foundation, said, "Winter is a particularly difficult time for burn patients to manage their skin and rehabilitation due to the dry weather. We deeply appreciate the employees of Dr.G for their warm sharing and volunteer spirit to help patients recover their healthy daily lives."

The Hallym Burn Foundation, established in 2008, supports the physical, psychological and social recovery of burn patients and their families. In addition to providing medical expenses and rehabilitation treatment support for burn patients and raising welfare funds, the foundation conducts various social contribution activities including specialized trauma treatment programs for firefighters.
