Hanwha Systems Leads Defense Firms with 16 Employees Passing National Certification Exam

Hanwha Systems (272210.KS) announced Wednesday that 16 of its employees passed the 7th Defense Acquisition Program Manager national certification examination administered by the Defense Acquisition Program Administration, the highest number among domestic defense companies.
The examination was held on December 1 at Yongsan High School in Seoul, with 65 candidates passing out of 984 applicants. Of the successful candidates, 31 were defense industry employees. Hanwha Systems accounted for approximately 25% of all those who passed and more than half—approximately 52%—of defense industry employees who passed.
The Defense Acquisition Program Manager certification, which verifies professional qualifications in defense acquisition management, is the only national certification in the defense industry issued under the authority of the Minister of National Defense. The certification is divided into two categories: weapons systems and information systems.
Starting this year, Hanwha Systems has been operating specialized training programs for employees to obtain the certification through partnerships with domestic universities. Hanwha Systems employees have consistently appeared on the list of successful candidates each year, with 16 passing this year, 12 in 2024, and 8 in 2023.
"This achievement is the result of Hanwha Systems' expertise in defense acquisition and our systematic talent development programs," a Hanwha Systems official said. "Hanwha Systems will continue its efforts to cultivate defense and defense industry professionals to contribute to strengthening Korea's self-reliant defense capabilities and expanding exports."
