“Filibuster will be suspended if less than 60 people are present”... National Assembly Act Amendment Passed by the Executive Committee

The National Assembly Steering Committee passed a bill on the 3rd to stop the National Assembly President's filibuster (unlimited discussion) if there are no more than 60 people left in the General Assembly Hall of the National Assembly.
The management committee held a full meeting on this day and voted on this amendment to the National Assembly Act on the initiative of the Democratic Party.
The key point of the amendment is that members designated by the President of the National Assembly of Filibuster can conduct meetings, and the President of the National Assembly proclaims the suspension of the meeting if the number of members in the conference hall does not reach 60, which is one-fifth of the current members.
At the general meeting on this day, the People's Power was concerned that the amendment would “neutralize the minority party's means of resistance.” Congressman Kim Eun-hye tweeted, “The Democratic Party, which prevents minority opposition parties from using Filibuster, will now pass laws to eliminate the crimes of President Lee Jae-myung, who was anxious to go to jail after leaving office.”
The Democratic Party, on the other hand, confronted that it was necessary to process the bill in order to normalize Filibuster. Congressman Seo Mi-hwa emphasized, “Using Filibuster as an excuse to shake the national government and people's lives and turn the National Assembly into a place of strife is a clear abandonment of duty.”
